This is a bassist of the classical sort, 15 years old that I heard on “From the Top” last week. I haven’t been able to get this tune out of my mind.

Thanks for that – I agree, a very nice composition, well performed. The piece is Reitba by François Rabbath. You can hear his version of it on his album Carmen! (there’s a sample at that link).
