I have the first Afro Celt CD and want to get another. The thing is, times being how they are, scratchin’ and survivin’ and all that jazz, I’m not in the position to buy the other two CD’s at once. Which of the other two would you recomend for whistle.
I’m sure I’ll end up with both, but instant gratification is rearing it’s beautifull head.
Both of the last two Afro Celts CD are good. I’d say go with Vol. #2 if your in the mood for more a more driving Techno feel, or Vol. #3 if you’re feeling a little more Pop music inclinded at the moment.

I liked both of them but this might help you decide. Vol 2 has a guest appearance on a track by Enya and Vol 3 has guest appearances from Peter Gabriel, Robert Plant and Pina. I think I liked Vol. 3 better the track Go On Through with Pina was very good.

If you want to make your decision harder there is a Release (Vol 2) Remixes CD you could buy.
I have all the Afro-Celt albums and, though not even close to pure traditional, they are extremely cool.
I’d have to disagree with Loren about the difference between volume 2 and volume 3. I see all three albums as a progression from ambient quasi-traditional fusion to full-ahead traditionally inspired dance/trance music. Volume three could almost be played front to back in a club, with the exception of the tracks with Peter Gabriel, Robert Plant , and Pina, which are, as Loren says, very poppy.
Volume 2 most certainly does not have any sort of guest appearance by Enya, thank God, but the first song on the album is sung by Sinead O’Conner. My favorites are volume 2 and 3, but I think that betrays my previously quite strong interest in electronic dance music. Volume 1 is better suited to the new-age/ambient crowd. None of them should be classified as traditional. All of them should be classified as a darn good time!

Hey thanks for the posts. Funny thing, I had a gig last night and the typical problem came up of double booking. So we had a while before we went on.
There was a used CD store a couple shops down and I spent some time in there. I got lucky, they had Volume 2 for 7.99. I also picked up the latest Lunasa for 4.99.
All this made up for a bad gig. We actually had the lights turned off on us by management
Had the lights turned out on you, eh? Ouch, tough gig indeed!
Good Deal on the CD’s though. Man that new Lunasa CD is something isn’t it? Great stuff!
