In case you missed it, Afro Celt released a new album in October.
Anatomic - usual Afro Celt sound, so it follows nicely from the previous four.
Bought mine via Amazon, so it’s easily available.

I had a tour guide once who was constantly playing Afro Celt and I enjoyed it. But I’ve just never been able to bring myself to actually buy one of their albums.
Be wary, Fool the trad police might come after you, but then again this fourm doesn’t have a lot of them. I never really liked Afro Celt myself just not my thing.
My husband loves Celtic music and plays pure traditional, new age “Celtic,” and AfroCelt without discriminating between them… I like AfroCelt as long as he doesn’t play it four nights in a row.
Some of what I love about African music is the driving repetition of short phrases. Some of what I hate about it is the same endless repetition of short phrases. Add bagpipes, and it tends to move more towards hate.
Just a little too much of a good thing.
I’d like to hear their new album though!

I’ve only heard afro celt once on Highlander Radio, it wasn’t bad.
I’ve seen a lot of bands, and Afro Celts was definately one of the very best, IMO. I’ve also enjoyed the CD’s (haven’t heard the latest), but I have to say they are at their best live, for anyone on the fence about catching them on tour.

Absolutely. I never seem to play their CDs but if I get a chance to see them live or just catch a few minutes on TV I don’t miss it. Does anybody actually listen to CDs of the Drummers of Burundi? Perhaps, but seeing them live is an unforgettable experience.
All of which brings me to a question: has anyone captured the Afro-Celts on DVD yet?
Must be like the Kodo Drummers

Incredible, when it’s live.
Oh, yes! Welcome to the wonderful world of Shamrock Jam Rock!
