Probably old news to anyone seriously researching Taylor sets, but if you’re looking for photos of the Taylor set owned by the Mercer Museum in PA, as well as pics of the Taylor bros. tools, and possibly measurements, I had this info from a curator there recently:
We have a number of images available; unfortunately, the best shot that I
currently have has no negative. We are happy to make duplicates of any of our photographs; however, the cost for the shot with no negative will be
higher than the others.
Here are the negatives that we have available:
*three shots of William Taylor’s bagpipe tools
*two shots of the bagpipe case
*three close-up shots of the pipes themselves
*one shot of the chanter pipe and the windbag
Additionally, we have one excellent shot showing the bagpipes, including
windbag, chanter pipe, pipes and stock, and bellows, laid out. This is the
shot that exists only in print form.
The cost of reproductions are as follows:
*If a negative already exists, it would be $7.00 for a 4x5, $11.00 for a 5x7, and $15.00 for an 8x10. If larger sizes are requested, I can provide a quote.
*If no negative exists, the charge would be the same as above plus an additional $17.00 to make a negative (which we would keep).
