Hi! I’m Prissana from Thailand. I really like the Corrs and the whistle. I wanna play it like Andrea Corr. I’d love the whistle. But i don’t know how do i get one. I don’t think it’s
available in Thailand. It’s impossible to get one =( … Anyone can help me? and how much does it cost?
Well, you could order one on-line… the Chiff and Fipple website has a wonderful list of Whistle dealers that would be useful.
In American dollars, you can get a decent whistle for about $8.00 or less, sometimes a little more. Not including Shipping and Handling.
US$3 for the Meg.
Incidentally I have one of those bamboo Thai whistles with about 9 holes. It looks good, anyway. ![]()
Hi Prissana,
If you want to play like Andrea Corr, you should get a Waltons LBW or Little Black Whistle, as this is the type she most commonly uses. It’s also one of the cheapest available; she uses them because she loses them, and they’re dead cheap.
I’m not sure what keys she plays in the songs, but this comes in the key of D which is the most common key for Irish music, and Irish whistles.
Good luck hunting!
Prissana from Thailand,
Send me your snail mail address and I will send you a SweetTone D whistle as a gift! Come on you guys! We are turning swords into plowshares and whistles! We cannot leave anyone on this big beautiful blue marble in the sky whistle deprived! Send whistles to those that want them but don’t have them!
If this feels uncomfortable to you Prissana from Thailand, ask PATI about Anna in Deadwood, she’s from Poland!

You shame us and make us proud, Anna. Way to go.
Thanks a lot everyone for ur suggestions…=D
Come ON folks!
Buy a few Megs and send them on! Postage isn’t that bad, and usually customs won’t be bothered with a three dollar whistle! It sure won’t hurt and I promise, it’ll be so worth it, no kidding! When those mystics talk about creating good karma, they forgot to tell you how much you get back when you put the good stuff out! Nobody should ever have to be without the means to make music! Ever!
Funny, I have zip money, but am richer in music than any millionaire I know!

Corrazy, You bet I’ll send you a whistle! It’ll be interesting to see how long it takes to get to Thailand! It’ll be a SweeTone D, because that’s what I have, but I’d bet my last dollar, that one of these Chiffies will send you that Walton! Whistlers have big hearts, good hearts and even great hearts. They don’t cost much at all! You may end up with too many Walton’s then you pass one on!

How true that is! No one who wants a whistle should go without. I have to be sneaky about buying whistles. My mom doesn’t like for me to spend money, so if I got a shipment of Megs to distribute, she would not like that. When I leave home I’ll be free to spread peace and whistles throughout the world, I suppose.
Hi! I’m John from a small town in the desolate, outback of the western United States. I love the whistle too and don’t know where I can get a complete set of Copelands and/or Overtons. Can anyone help me too?? ![]()
Allison, you are a lamer. ![]()
Man, was I waiting to get stung from this thread’s beginnning. Am I alone on that?
Best wishes to all new whistlers in the world and kind benefactors.

ROFLOL!!! Now that’s funny!
Kim
I can’t really afford whistles, but when somebody really NEEDS a whistle, I’ll do what it takes go get them one. Overtons are way over my piddly budget! Maybe if you wish hard enough…this fairy Godmother is down for the night!

Shoot me your snail mail and I can send you a C walton and a D generation. I have graduated on to more expensive whistles and enjoy spreading the fun and joy of music to others.
John,
There is a reeeeal nice man named Jim Rementer who, for a sum, will give you a complete set of Copelands. He seems to have access to lots of them. I’m not saying what that “sum” will be, but it’s more than a Sweetone, let me say that much! ![]()
