A Chance to Have your Tunes up in lights! (Very big lights)

Heelo Guys :wink: , Its Matheu Watson here. I know this is rather cheeky to do but my band ,Tassel Bandits, are giging pretty heavily in the summer (including gigs with SessionA9 and the Incredible String Band)and we are looking for new material .We mainly play modern tunes so that is what we are looking .Any recently composed tunes,not posted on this website will do. They can be in any key and of any type (preferibly all types of jigs and reels ,but any will do). The reason that we wont never before seen tunes is because we would like give new and hidden composers a chance at having their tunes up in lights and beause thats what we normally play. They can be of any style (preferably Irish, Breton, Galcian ,Modern or Scottish)and if we use I can promise you that the composer will get ful credit (no Plagerism here folks!!!). If you have any tunes that fit the bill could you please e-mail them to me (any amount you want).

If you can not e-mail the tunes give me an e-mail anyway and I give you my address.

Errr… except for the subject line, the first post here appears to be a duplicate of a post yesterday by the same person.

And I ask the same question here I did there – why not post the tunes right on this board?

Well, you could learn to use the ABC format to post tunes (very standard in the computer-using part of the traditional music world). Or you could figure out how to generate a graphics image containing the staff notation and post that here. Or you could record it and post the recording.

All these methods have been used to post original tunes to this message board in the last couple of weeks…

I mean, I wish these guys luck (if they’re on the up and up) in their quest to expose new tunesmiths, but realistically speaking, your tune is a lot more likely to escape into the wild if you post it here than if you mail it off to some obscure band out there and hope they play it and someone else hears.

(Though certainly there’s nothing stopping you from doing both…)
