WTB / WTT - Looking for high D whistle in boxwood !

Hello !

Is there anyone interested to sell or trade his high D boxwood whistle ?

Have a nice day !

Have you tried wooden whistle makers like Roy McManus or Paul Busman .
They may be able to make you one.

There is a whistlemakers list up top of this forum and any of the whistlemakers that work with wood could make a boxwood whistle.

Here are some boxwood whistles:

I am sure you can buy or trade (cash for whistle).

Cash is king. And wood too.

Hi there,

thanks a lot for all the info, I appreciate it !

I’ve already contacted one of the makers and he told me that
high humidity (I’m living in one of these places) is not good
for boxwood whistle/flute, so I guess I better start to forget
about boxwood…

Does anyone have the e-mail address of the whistle maker Willy Simmons (from UK) ?

I’ve made a few. Boxwood is a favorite wood for thicker walled instruments like Recorder, but thin walled ones like penny whistle tend to warp. It doesn’t affect the playing but it can look a tad odd.
Why do you want Boxwood in particular? There are a lot of great alternatives out there.

Hi Paul,

I don’t know, it has been always an attraction the boxwood for me but I always
tried to avoid it because the warping problem !

It is also an excuse to try some new maker’s whistles !

Cheers

Is there anyone interested to sell a Bleazey high D whistle, possibly in applewood,
or boxwood ?
