WTB - Sweetheart Folk Fife in D

Have you got a Sweetheart Folk Fife in D that’s not getting played much? One that’s looking for a good home? Please PM. Thanks.

Your first post, and welcome to you!

About that Sweetheart Folk Fife in D…

Sweetheart no longer makes that particular instrument, but instead now makes an even better little flute, of about the same size, and in D. That is, yes, you likely could find an older Folk Fife in D, but I’d suggest that you keep your eyes open for one of the newer models in D, which I think is currently known as a Professional Fife. Nice!

Hi and welcome…

I noticed this morning that there’s a Sweetheart whistle/fife combo on eBay (item #130196175665). It’s not mine (although I WISH it were).

Good luck in your search!

Pat

That’s one to have a look at!

Try comparing that one on eBay to what’s listed on the Sweetheart site as the Professional Fife model, just to be sure.

Thanks for the friendly welcome and the thoughts/suggestions on Sweetheart fifes.

Jay

Hey JayB:

I grew up in Uniontown but live in southern West Virginia these days.

aha! no wonder you’re so weird!

I finished high school in Canton

It explains so much now, doesn’t it.

I live in the northern panhandle - I’m not weird either (am I, well, AM I???) Hmmm… guess I am after all. Hey Are you going to the Timber Flute Festival in Elkins?

Pat

I never heard of the Timber flute festival. I know of the Agusta festival in Elkins. I don’t play ITM, I just like the instruments.

Wheeling is like the wierdest.

Thanks to all for their kind assistance and suggestions. A dandy Sweetheart fife/whistle combo arrived yesterday - procured from a kind member of the Chiff and Fipple community!

Just need to practice, practice, practice now!

be careful of your hearing. earplugs, you can buy em
cheap at the supermarket.

Good point, Jim!

This particular little flute goes way into, and even beyond, piccolo range, where earplugs are a good idea.
