Does anyone have or know of one in great condition that they’d like to sell? I’m not interested in the old (non-black tip) models. I really need a louder session whistle; we have a ton of fiddlers and flute players at ours and I usually can’t hear myself.
This seems like the best selling whistle in Mike’s line. That said, I’m sure he has these in stock. You could order one from Mike and have it really quick.
My budget is a bit below a brand new one, that’s why I asked if anyone had a used one. I’ve played his DAN for about a year now and that was the quickest service I’ve ever received from a maker… great guy Mr. Burke is. I don’t actually play my Burke much these days since I found a Gen and a Feadog that I fancy but I need a louder session whistle so I thought this would be a good option.
Hopefully someone will be able to help you out. Good luck.
The old Burke Wide Bore Brass (WBB) was a really nice whistle (I’ve had a couple and wouldn’t mind getting my hands on another) However, it’s not a really loud whistle, I’d say the volume is about average, despite the “Wide Bore” moniker.

Well, a fellow C&Fer was kind enough to offer his DBSBT for sale so I’ll try it out and see what I think of it.
Cheers,
