Well I thought it would cure my whoa, but it has only wet the ole’ appetite. I have a nice burke brass pro soprano d i’m willing to trade. Nothing wrong with the whistle - it’s just not my style. I’m looking for something purer sounding - a session whistle that plays Cnatural - oxxooo. Please e-mail me off the board if interested. Wood is fine.
Is it a wide bore or a narrow?
wide bore, sorry i left that out
By the sound of what you’re looking for, a Rose blackwood will fit the bill; mine’s never for sale though!
yes i admit it, i covet a rose . . . but that “need” will just have to wait until bills are paid, kids are out of college, and till the kingdom dale talks about comes.

I don’t think you will find a purer-sounding whistle than a Burke WBB D. As for the cnat fingering, I think that you are just going to have to learn to finger it a different way, than the 0XX 000 you are used to. Most whistles are very sharp, playing it that way.
JP
John you may be right, and the Burke is an excellent whistle - it’s just not my voice, if you know what I mean.
I thought my Rose was markedly purer than any whistle I ever played including Burke, Copeland et al.
It was actually too pure for me.
Again, not my voice but a fabulous instrument.
Doc
Doc it was too pure for me too, that’s why I sold it to you!
Is this a WBB-D or session brass D? I have a Burke WBB-D that I’d love to trade for a session brass D…
sorry eskin, and company, the trade is done. thank you all for your interest.
