I would be interested to hear if anyone has tried the wooden dixon flute, you can PM me if you wish with comments.

Tom (a.k.a. Blackbeer) has a rosewood one. He’s up in Alaska with spotty internet access so it might take him a couple of days to reply. The short answer is, I believe, it’s his favorite modern flute.

If this gets low on the page, and Tom hasn’t answered, you might want to bump this up.

I have an ebony Dixon flute with silver(nickel?) rings. It s a great flute. I bought it from another board member last summer and I have really enjoyed geting to know this flute.

It’s not a big bore Pratten by any means but it has a great tone and I don’t have any problems being heard in a session.

I am considering selling this flute to help offset the expenses of a new baby sinse it doesn’t get played as much as my other flutes.

Email me if you are interested.

Thanks,
Colin
