On Friday 7 September, over 500 people simultaneously jumped up and down for 60 seconds in At-Bristol’s Wildwalk foyer. The Giant Jump was a huge experiment carried out across the country to launch Science Year.
The aim of the Giant Jump was to create a measurable artificial earthquake, as well as create a brand-new Guinness World Record™.500 people about to help create 2 world records, and an earthquake.

The people jumping at Wildwalk-At-Bristol made a mini-quake: Earthquake Engineers from the University of Bristol measured an impact of one one-hundredth (1/100) of the strongest earthquake Britain has ever experienced.
Along with thousands of schools and other science centres, At-Bristol helped to set two world records.The largest simultaneous jump
The largest number of people participating in a world record.Over 1 million people took part in the Giant Jump.
