Whistle World Record Attempt

Thought of you fellas when I heard about this:

Musical instrument shops nationwide are reporting an unprecedented demand for tin whistles. Shop assistants blame an upcoming World Record attempt by Scoil Acla, the longest-established Summer School in Ireland. It will take place on Achill’s 5km-long Keel Strand on 31st July as part of Scoil Acla’s 1910-2010 Centenary celebrations, bringing together the most tin whistle players ever in one place to play the same tune.

Chiff and Fipple road trip?

The Chiffboard ERT (Emergency Response Team) is already gearing up for an onslaught of a bazillion new user registrations the week of July 25. Special Hot Line forums will be in place for “What whistle should I buy?”, “My whistle squeaks”, and “My head is stuck”, as well as post-event trauma counseling for survivors of a bazillion out-of-tune whistles playing Fáinne Geal an Lae.

  1. A cheap one.
  2. Don’t blow so hard.
  3. Play something besides “Fáinne Geal an Lae.”

Oh. Your whistle head. Well, then…

  1. Soak it in hot water.

Glad I could help.

When all else fails on the whistle head, use the acetone panic button!
