I’m considering attending the next WotB in September. I would like to know if anyone has been to this event and found it worth while or whatever.

I’ve been and loved it. Skip is an outstancing performer himself and he has a good number of performers/teachers there as well. Don’t know for sure about this year but in the past John Skelton was teaching and performing. The concerts were outstanding and the lessons were the same. Don’t miss it. Don’t know yet if I’m making this next one or not.

I thought it was excellent and I had a great time. Besides Skip, Andra and John Skelton, the other flute teacher was June Mc Cormack. Plus her husband Michael Rooney was also there with his harp and concertina. June and Michael’s contribution to the Saturday night concert was some of the best music I’ve heard. I left the entire event inspired.
I went a couple of years ago and had a good time. I haven’t gone recently because of the distance and the cost.
The problems with living in the far southwest. 
I’ve been to WOTB for the past three years.
Since registration is kept low, the classes are smaller, more intimate and allow for a bit more one on one with the instructors.
The instuctors for the past two years - Skip, John Skelton, June McCormick and Andra Bohnet are all fantastic!! And they gear their classes to the playing ability of the participents. Never once did I take a class where I felt like I was in over my head.
This past year there were two sessions - one Friday evening and one Saturday night. Imagine 20 or so fute players, plus a couple of folks on mandolin, fiddle or what have you… its an incredible sound!
On Saturday evening, prior to the session, the instuctors perfom in concert. Each year I’ve been blown away by the playing abilities of these people!
Sunday afternoon there is a final concert that, in good weather, is held outdoors on the grounds of the Varnum Museum. Again the instuctors perform, and Skip usually brings in a few other local muscians. Combine Fall in New England with good music and you come up with a wonderful way to spend the afternoon!
My recommendation is clear…if you can possibly make it, it’s well worth attending!!
Even though I am a student of Skip’s and work as his office manager, I wouldn’t miss WOTB for anything!

To others, Sue saved the day by bringing a large container of coffee one morning, I wouldn’t have survived the day without her!

I’ve been working for Skip for a little over a year!
And having coffee on hand each morning has become a tradition. Let’s face it…it’s needed!
Will you be able to come back out east this fall?
And more importantly…how’s that Healy flute???
