Hey folks:
After tough deliberation, I’m going to sell my blackwood Chris Wilkes headjoint, instead of letting a great flute headjoint sit idle. It was made in 2000 as a headjoint for a custom original Rudall & Rose flute. It is lined and exhibits every quality of meticulous craftsmanship that Wilkes is well-known for. I have taken meticulous care of it and it has not a scratch, but it broken in. You’ll love the hand-turned screw mechanism and endcap!
It has a classic Rudall embouchure, which when you hit that stream, takes a flute to a new level of tone. Really phenomenal. I know becuase others (including the illustrious Mr. Migoya) who have played my Rudall can attest to this headjoint and what it does to the flute. This is a headjoint for the serious player with a good embouchure, not the part-timer like me.
To order a new flute from Chris, or have him make a custom headjoint takes I don’t know how many years now.
I am selling it because it doesn’t fit my embouchure as well as a bigger embouchure on my new McGee headjoint. I’d like to see this go to someone who will use it and love it, rather than make loads of money.
The barrel opening measures 23.5mm across and 27.5mm deep.
PM me if interested.
