Why I wish I could find my Dixon Low D

When I was finally able to return home last February, I packed my Dixon in a box - which I can’t find. So today I have an urge to play a low D. No problemo - the big brown Overton is always nearby. Except…

Two weeks back, when we went to turn the furnace on it wouldn’t come on. The repair guy said it was 1, dangerous and 2, shot and 3, condemned. The new one will be installed Wednesday. The temps have been rising into the upper 40s F by day and dropping into the mid 30s (or lower) by night. We can keep the pets and us from freezing with electric heaters but it ain’t cozy.

Back to the whistling. Try as I might to warm the big guy up by blowing, sticking it in my shirt between tunes and cussing a hot streak, the whistle won’t stay warm enough to play well - it literally cools off as I play it.

The relevance of this to you all? None. I’m just looking for sympathy.

I feel your pain man!

Well, actually…I really don’t, seeing how I’ve been living in Florida for the last 12-13 years…but hey, it’s the thought that counts, right?

Loren “We’re still sweating our ***** off here in Florida”

Well, we’re all drowning out here! PLEASE, OH GOD, MAKE IT STOP RAINING!!! But hey, at least it isn’t cold

Chuck, for you I will step outside and play a very long air with a metal instrument, just so I can sympathize..
