I’ve been giving a lot of thought about whistles I’ve gotten for review. I don’t really feel right selling them, even though technically they’re mine. (I know some folks have sold whistle they’ve been given for review…this is not a condemnation of those people.)
But after thinking about it quite a bit, I came to the conclusion that I was perfectly fine, morally speaking, trading whistles for other whistles that I could review. This will help keep me working on reviews, and keep my wallet from being too empty.
These are the whistles I have available (in no particular order)
- None
I’m not offering up the Chieftain NR low D, because I want to keep it for session. Nor am I offering up the Feadogs, because in making them tunable, I cracked both their heads, though if you really wanted to trade for them, that’s OK too. That’s the sum of all the ‘free whistles’ I’ve gotten.
These are the whistles I have yet to review
- Alba (any but SE, which I have reviewed already)
- Humphrey
- Desi Seery
- Burke Viper or Composite
- Sindt
- Harper
- Laughing Whistle
- Sullivan
- Swayne
- Rose
- Lark
- Weltmeister
- Silkstone Alloy
- Parkhurst
- Bleazey
- Elf Song
- Lon Dubh
There are some whistles that aren’t on the list, like Abell, that I currently own, but have not yet reviewed, so I don’t need to trade for them. Note also there are whistles here I used to own (Silkstone, Laughing, Dixon), but sold before I started reviewing regularly.
Really, I’d consider any reasonable trade offer…if you have a Dixon and wanna trade it for a Mellow Dog or the Syn, for instance, that’d be great. Please, though, be reasonable. I would prefer not to trade $200 whistles for $20 whistles
I might trade $200 whistles for $150 or even $100 whistles, though. Can’t hurt to ask.
(all whistles are spoken for, and have been removed. I have a line of 3 possibles for the Songbird, so I assume it will be spoken for and have taken it off the list as well.)
