Sorry for the confusion! I tried to edit my first post but I don’t see the little edit button. Here’s the CORRECT version. Please ignore the others.
I am seeking to trade Sindts for O’Riordans. I’m interested in all keys and styles of O’Riordans. Also–if need be, I’m willing to equalize the trade (with cash or whistles).
All the Sindts are brass and are in excellent condition. Only the C Sindt comes with an extra tube… but keep in mind that if you end up with the Eb Sindt, it’s a simple matter to retrofit it so that it’s a D whistle with minimal cost (and so forth, as is listed with each whistle). Gary Humphrey makes great tubes that you can match up to get the right bore.
I don’t know who, that’s why I’m putting out the ad… only kidding.
Truth be told, I constantly hear people say that they prefer one maker over the other. I’m assuming there are folks who would rather play Sindts than O’Riordans. And considering Mr. Sindt’s very lengthy waiting list, some of those folks might really appreciate the chance to trade for a Sindt.
Furthermore, I made it clear that I’m willing to equalize with whistles or cash. That means that if the Sindt in question is worth less than the O’Riordan, I’m not proposing an equal trade. I’ll be glad to kick in more.
But hey–it’s’ great to know that someone is sticking up for all those lunatic whistle players that just might have gotten snared! Kudos, my friend…keep u the good work.
You’d be surprised what people will trade. I had someone trade me a Copeland D for my Sindt D - a value of about 3 to 1. They just wanted a Sindt and were willing to trade something more expensive to get it.
Sindts and O’Riordans are so completely different from each other, and they are both great whistles. I know there are people out there who have O’Riordans that they are not using because they prefer something else. Frankly, parting with my Sindts was a big decision, and I’m still holding onto to several of them.
That’s so true. I have a couple of O’Riordans, and even they are considerably different. One is a bit breathy and probably what some might call more traditional sounding, and the other is the clean, pure sound that you think of with his work. I also have a Grinter D I’d probably trade that is the opposite end of the spectrum, but I would wager as high in its class as the O’Riordan is in its.
