I’ve stumbled upon someone on Ebay who makes cases for whistles. The case below is in ash but I’d guess if I can persuade him to make cases in other woods there just may be others out there who’d like to house their whistles in greater luxury.
I understand he also makes whistles and flutes in steamed pear and rosewood.
The whistle in the picture is an Alba Q1.
I’ll report back with more information when I have it.
That’s a really beautiful case - I’d love to see something like this being sold in Ireland, & I’d buy it immediately!
Looking forward to more info. on this!
Looks to me like it may be available in Ireland. Isn’t Custy’s in Ennis?
I’ve now got a couple more photos and am trying to persuade the maker to allow me to reveal his contact details.
I keep my whistles in a drumstick bag. It has many Long pockets and a handle. I do have to poke around the bottom for my F but since I don’t use it all that often it’s not a problem, besides I could always stuff it with something. You can get them for 12.99 at -: http://www.activemusician.com/market/items/AD_DSB1.asp
There’s a picture there too.
