Whistle bag

I recently bought a low D that came with a bag made of wool, and I liked having it in something that protected it. Since I have more than few whistles, I looked for more online… All in vain. So, my wife one day took me to get some material to make our grand daughter a quilt. So I picked out some material for her to make some whistle bags! They will be padded, like a quilt to protect my other “babies.”. I will have a heavy cord for a drawstring. If anyone is interested, I could have her make multiples? Just polling for interest. I can send pictures to those who want to see. Either PM me or email dansails at woh.rr.com.

I think $15 USD plus shipping is what we will ask. Just would need to know what whistle for length/ diameter.

My wife has made me three different soft, compartmentalised roll-up cases over the years as my combination of whistles and bodhran sticks has changed. Much nicer than anything you can buy, when your wife makes it!

Hm, I would have been in the market for one a few days ago, but then I shelled out $45 for a Burke roll case. It’s huge and it can hold 12 whistles, well worth the money in my opinion. I do think roll cases are the way to go, because it’s a more compact and secure way to carry your whistles with you. Here’s a video of a whistle bag made in Germany that I would have bought if I could have had it shipped to me:

It’s a very well thought out bag, and is very similar to the Burke roll case (holds fewer and only high whistles). If you haven’t already started production (or even if you have, and find you like this idea) I would say designing them in this fashion would be a good idea, and I’d say charging more than 15 USD for them would also be a good idea.

Just my thoughts on the matter, I’m sure they’ll be great bags regardless (I’m a firm believer in home made).
