For protecting and carrying my whistles I cannot find anywhere else a bag that could satisfy me…
Therefore I started to think about one to my self:
Must have several independent slots for several whistles;
Functional, easy to carry and ergonomic;
Sling bag;
Cordura like materials to be waterproof and tough;
How many of you would be interested in having such a bag?
I have made a sketch taking in consideration real dimensions from several whistle makers and keys. (The image does not have the shoulder strap modeled and the fancy colors on the image are only for contrast).
For most useful keys (without repetitions…) I come with 2 bags that I named BWSB and SWSB:
I do make my own bags too. They are constructed from DuPont’s Supplex Nylon on the exterior with Malden Mill’s Polar Fleece on the inside. They protect the whistles well but not as well as a hard case. After making a few of these cases, I found Kate Lozier of TuffBaggs and I had her make a few bags for me as well. This is the one in which I carry my aluminum Burke whistles.
That bag holds whistles from high E down to low E. The lower whistles have a similar bag - I carry multiple Burke low D’s. Unfortunately, TuggBaggs no longer makes these, so I am back to sewing my own.
Sorry. I don’t think so. She has apparently given up making bags and is concentrating on other products these days. Tuffbaggs still exists, but the custom instrument bags are a thing of the past.
Several other bag makers have come and gone in the past decade as well. It must be a tough business.
There are several bag makers on the website Etsy.com. I have no experience buying from any of them however - I have as many bags as I can use. Etsy serves as an outlet for a lot craftspeople, many of whom have good skills working with fabrics. You might look around there.
Also, several other members here on C&F have made bags and some have shown bags made by others. Perhaps they will add their thoughts and experiences.
Michael Burke and Colin Goldie sell whistle bags/rolls/cases. A while ago Cayden, member here on C&F, had provided me with a whistleroll case for high whistles. Check with Cayden for custom made cases. Photos are my whistleroll case.
I had a custom leather case made by Bob Denton at Tucson Leather Works. Bob is a C&F member, ask if custom case for multiple whistles can be made to your specifications.
I had her make mine special. It has two large pockets that will fit my low D instruments, and two smaller pockets on the front for the higher instruments.
It isn’t waterproof, but it is padded.
It came with an elastic strap, but I removed that and added a leather strap.

It seems very similar to what you are looking for and could be a solution.
I modified it a little to grant better access to the whistles.
For me it’s not perfect, but usable.
But your case could be an improvement.
I like this sort of case more than roll cases, because it combines protection an quick acess to different whistles during a session.
Yes, they are. And they can hold a lot of whistles, come in a variety of sizes and shapes too. One thing to note is that unless you come up with some manner of making individual pockets in a stick bag, the whistles will rub and bang about inside. The Goldie bag has pockets sewn into it just for that purpose.
