. . .for the holidays? Any and all suggestions wanted. Let’s keep it under $100, though.
He is a sports nut, plays trombone (oy vey is mir) and appears to be a ‘typical’ boy.
Thanks all! My nephew will appreciate it too!

Get him something he wants, not something that someone thinks is “good for him”. That’s what gift giving is supposed to be about. Current DVDs, CDs, video games, etc. are all enthusiastically received.

My son acquired and learned to ride a unicycle around that age. It does take interest and determination though. Rollerblades are great too. Maybe an interesting chess or other game set.
one word:
Legos
Legos were my principle occupation for two years of my life.
AHHA!! So it’s all YOUR fault!!!
Noah’s happiest day of his young life was the day he found out that they were coming out with Star Wars Legos. His two favorite things combined into one.

Those are my two favorite things, too! Well, and music and literature…
When I was young, I had all the Star Wars action figures except the bacta tank, and I was a little bitter about that. So whenever Luke Skywalker got hurt, I’d go get a glass of water and drop him in. ![]()
Good times…
I wonder what ever happened to all those toys. They wouldn’t be worth anything now, since I played them to death.
Ah legos, those were great fun. I never had that many, even though I loved them. My brother got ticked when I played with his. My parents bought me a few, if only to prevent my brother from beating the crap out of me on a regular basis, but all I got from other relatives at Christmas were dolls and stuffed animals and other “girl” crap I wasn’t really that interested in.
Get him a bottle of this stuff.

Either this preferably.

Or as a close second

The single bottle option is a new thing but is incredibly good. It combines the two elements in the double bottle and they don’t separate. I think you can get a bottle of the single stuff for about $7.00. If he is like most 9 year old Trombone Players, his horn could use some help. Get him the spray bottle too.

It’s a cult among the 9 - 12 y.o. set.
And you can spend anything from 10.00 on up.
Underwear.
It is never too soon to learn the harsh truths about life.

My son really liked to assemble Gundam models at that age.
I second the Bionicles. Jo was crazy for them at that age, as was everyone in her class.
Another thing that was really hot among the 9-12 year olds who went with us on the England trip was Top Trumps…a collectible card game. At the time we were there, they weren’t available in the U.S., but someone told me that Toys R Us has them now. They come in a wide variety of “themes,” and kids love to collect the decks, but unlike the Yug-gi-oh and Pokemon cards, each deck is complete unto itself. The game is more interesting and challenging as well.
