Good Lord! (of the rings)

My 5 yr old granddaughter was watching LOTR for the ?? time and it occurred to me that a playset of figures might be a fun gift for Christmas.

I don’t want collectibles.
I don’t want battlements.
I don’t want orcs.
I don’t want each scene to re-enact.
:really:

The fellowship would do nicely, Gollum… some elves… in some plasticy stuff that she can have fun playing with…

Oh my, there’s too much stuff! Hours and hours worth (but so far nothing that suits) :imp:

I think you’re a bit late coming to this. The toy stores were full of these figures when the movies were hot. That’s how the marketing for these things usually works. Now they are being sold at twice the price as “collectibles” on the web. You could try cruising Toys R Us or someplace similar, but there’s no telling what’s left this long after the rush.

Ah, too late… but who’d a thought, back then…

I guess it’s an “alive cub” then. Why she wants this when she has my house full of real live dogs that she can play with is anyone’s guess. When she first mentioned one, it was right after she got up in the morning. Her mom thought she’d dreamed it, and convinced her of that- until they both saw the commercial.

Whoa, check out the look on this toy’s face at 20 seconds…do you think it’s hungry?? :astonished:

I’m not so sure about this-

I made this Fellowship of the Ring group out of Playmobil.

Whatever the reverse of height-enhancement surgery is, Gimli got it.
