What whistle do you play the most?

In order:

Clarke Sweetone D
Clarke Original D
Gen brass Eb, F, G
Sweetone C
Gen nickel Eb
Feadog D

Of the 7 inexpensive whistles I have, the top 3 are:

Clarke Original/Clarke Jerry-Tweaked Sweetone (tie)
Clarke Meg

All high D.

Now if I could just decide what to get with my Christmas money. Burke, or Hoover, or Hoover Whitecap, or Elfsong . . . . And I’d love a Clare 2 piece for the car.

SwtCaro

Hoover CPVC soprano D
Dixon non-tunable soprano D
Dixon tunable alto A
Self-tweaked Feadóg D brass (used to hate it; now I love it.)

My new Elfsong Delrin fipple plug Sassy Brass high D!!! Wonderful sound.

Most Played?

For the last 1 1/2 years(since I got it)-
Burke Brass Pro Sessions

second most played would be a tie between
Green top untweaked old brass Generation C
Dixon A tuneable

Prior to Xmas, it was my Generation Brass D, followed closely by my Clarke Sweettone and my Susato narrow bore.

After Xmas, my new Burke Brass Session D pushed all of those aside. Love it love it love it! It’s now my #1 by a landslide. I still noodle with the Gen and the Clarke a couple of times a week or so. I barely even look at my Susato anymore.

Dixon non-tune Sop D (quiet)
Chieftain Low D
Generation Bb

I play SUSATO whistles only.

My (Bernard) Overton Low D - got it on Saturday & havn’t stopped playing it yet !!

and another vote for:
Silkstone PVC Green D

then Dixon low D for quiet times

Aaargh… I have a new favourite that now equals my Sweetone D and which I’m playing all the time. Actually, although I say new, it’s really just the tube from my first ever whistle (a brass Feadog D) with the red mouthpiece from a brass Generation D stuck on it.

I had two Feadogs, both of which suffered from cracked mouthpieces which was a shame because I found the tubes to be more reliably in tune than Generation tubes. The hybrid is a bit sharp if you shove the tube all the way into the mouthpiece, but by pulling it out about 5mm I now have a cheap, cheerful hybrid that plays brilliantly and is in better tune than any of my other whistles.

I’m a dedicated fan of rock bottom cheap instruments. It’s a kind of inverted snobbery, I guess. It all started when I got a cheap Yamaha guitar that kicked the arse of any Fender I ever played…

At least this cheap thing means that for me WHOA is not a bank-breaking disorder.

Sorry, I seem to be straying off topic here…

My Oak high D.

In sessions: O’Riordan Traveller D (and occasionally my C Water Weasel)

At home (at the moment): O’Riordan Traveller Eb, D Water Weasel (and occasionally my E Water Weasel, now that I’ve worked out that some of the tracks on Music of Sligo are in E)

Away from home: I have an Improved Generation D which is fairly quiet and plays okay

My Alba Q1  Then next is my Hoover Bb
