The low D I’ve been wanting since I tried one at the Northeast Whistle Gathering in July…the Sweetheart Resonance low D. It arrived yesterday! I’m so excited!!!
It has a wonderful, sound; a , rich, strong tonic; smooth transition from the first octave to the second octave; an easy player, just needing a slight increase of air starting around the a or b in the second octave; and a good, strong, not shrill, third octave d.
So happy I can put something in here! I’m waiting for tweaked nickel generations Eb, C, D, Bb and mellowdogs d and c - from a Mr Freeman. ![]()
I am waiting for a custom Sassafrass Whistle Roll due later this month.
Oh, that was fun to see what folks are waiting for. I’ve actually reached a very odd place: contentment with what I have. Oops-not quite. I’m waiting for an exchange I made with David O’Brien for a wooden Eb. But mostly I’m just really enjoying what I’ve got. What I’m most waiting for is the time in my daily schedule when I can start playing more and start my next recording. It’s been so long that I’ve (gulp) forgotten how to run Pro Tools–which I’m super not looking forward to revving up again. Also, it’s time for me to learn some NEW TUNES already! I bet you know the feeling.
A Dixon high D polymer non-tunable!
I can’t wait for it (Christmas present).
