Paul is still living in Brittany (western France) and still playing whistle last I heard. He simply chooses not to be affiliated with C&F anymore.

Must have confused him with somebody, or just missunderstood something.
I think he was an immigrant to Brittany.
Zubivka is French of Ukrainian extraction. Although I communicated with him often away from the board, I don’t know why he left. He was growing visibly impatient with the callow anti-French sentiments dominating political threads at the time. Also he is a very active man and I think he might have decided that he was spending too much time on line.
I miss him, but can understand a need to go cold-turkey.

Patrick Thouron was American of French extraction, so the increasing anti-French sentiment also probably scared him away. Come to think of it–where has Claudine been lately?
