Hello people. This may be of interest…
http://www.sesiwn.org
There has never been any Welsh folk session festival anywhere in the world until 2009. So we’re starting one on the weekend of 23rd, 24th and 25th October this year in the Tawe Valley, above Swansea. There will be sessions in pubs in Ystalyfera on the Friday evening and in Ystradgynlais Saturday daytime and evening - see below. We’re calling it 'Sha 'Nôl, ‘Sha Mlân’. Ask if you want to know why ![]()
So if you’d like to hear, learn, play Welsh tunes, you’re more than welcome to come over. There’s a list of some tunes on our website but if you’re interested I can give you a list of some others that will undoubtedly surface wherever I am. If any chiffers are up for it, could perhaps sort out accomodation for you too - let me know.
There may be lemonade. In fact, all of the locations sell very good lemonade. And other stuff.
This is not co-incidental.
