Wanted: New or used Ark...

Anyone else going a touch mad because of a ton or rain? I’m not sure how much we’ve had (although I’m pretty sure it’s over 3" today), but it has been raining daily for a week or now…not gentle showers, but usually downpours - the kind that make umbrellas irrelevant. Our backyard is a bog - I could keep fish out there. I’m having flashbacks to the 93 flooding in the midwest, and I feel in need of comfort.

Anyone got an Ark to sell? We have a mess of animals, but I’m afraid we’ll only be able to repopulate the planet with tropical fish and kids.

On the serious side, our darn stone basement leaked today - hasn’t done that in about 3 years when we received 7" or so in one day. Luckily, it only leaks on one corner and runs right down the drain (thus avoiding the finished half of the basement).

My wife called me before leaving work at the barn, and she said the pond out there was overflowing - quite the change after being down about two yards just last year.

The part of England I’m in now hasn’t seen any substantial rain in almost a month. My parents in North Texas are in their 18th (I think) month of drought. So if you’ve some rain you don’t need…

Yeah, send your water to Arizona. 15-year dry spell there.

Sunny here in Calaforny. Water supplies somewhat low this year, but last year was torrential rain so we are coasting on reserve.

Global instability more than warming.

I’d gladly share but am not sure how to post large volumes of rainwater, and I’m doubtful it would get through English customs…

Sorry, but up here in the Great Lakes area it has been absolutley stellar for the last week, and is forecast to stay the same for a few more days: high pressure, clear blue skies, daytime highs between 15-17°C, RH about 30%. If I could have my drothers, it would stay this way and never get any hotter than this all year. I wish I knew of a place like that.

Urgh - 7 inches yesterday (including overnight rain), and more forecasted for today and tomorrow and, depending upon the station - rain either ending Wednesday or going through Friday - luckily, both forecasts are thinking 5 more inches this week.

On the positive side, I now have a reflective pool in my backyard that is simply beautiful…but I’m not sure how the dogs are going to like their bathroom turned into a tub. It’s a very good thing our backyard is 200 feet long since the new pool only covers about the last 50 feet of the yard. Driving out to dinner last night (ah, the healing power of Mexican food and beer!), we saw houses with standing pools of water within a foot or two of the foundation.

Hardly rained here at all in the last month or so. Usually as soon as it hits April we get soaked. Gardeners are complaining but everyone else is happy.

Rain makes me sad so I’ve been having a good time these last few weeks.

Heck, send some our way. We’re on track for a total rainfall these past 12 months of around 4 inches (compared to 10 average). And my neighborhood was one that burned partly to the ground a few years ago in the wildfire. I love San Diego weather, but there’s nothing like the memory of flames from horizon to horizon to make one wish for a few rainy days.

It’s is rather dry out your way MTGuru, isn’t it? My co-worker’s cousin lives in San Diego and was complaining about it the other day.

We’re finally drying out! 4 out of 4 local weather forecasters were wrong - it stopped raining yesterday morning and has been dry since and they’re removed all chances of rain for the next week (yet never admitting how off they were in their predictions - wish I could be that wrong at work).

Local rivers are still flooding with flood crests expected to peak in the next 30 minutes, but I’m nowhere near the rivers…so MTGuru, if you could move San Diego downstream on the Missouri river from me I could promised you a lot of water…
