Man, I loved seeing the “And There She Was” video by Talking Heads again. That was real cutting edge animation when it first came out. Its great to be reminded. I had to get some shut-eye last night, but there’s still lots more I want to see.
I should have finished reviewing all of these by the time Mr. Bloomfield finds similar 60s, 70s and 90s sites. (hint, hint)
Sadly, not having video access in my youth, I only knew the music piece of this. Still, having seen it, I’m convinced that the Sesame St. piece derived from this song goes it one better. Wish I had the vid, but I imagine Sesame St. things are pretty tightly controlled. Here are the lyrics.
I had forgotten how vulnerable and yet beautiful Sinéad O’Connor looked in that video. Her skin is gorgeous there. Very few women could be considered beautiful even without hair, but she is one of them.
I ask anybody who hasn’t seen this video to please check it out. It’s about child abuse. People often talk about how groundbreaking Nothing Compares 2 U video was, but this one is breath-taking as well. It chills my spine.
