Are the pictures in the beginning of the album pieces of this set? Because those pictures have been there ever since the article has been there, I believe. Was the set just finished?

I was under the impression that this is a new set. The Blevins beehive set appears on the same page of uilleannobsession, but is a 3/4 set.
Apart from the aesthetics of the set, K&Q make some of the finest sounding C pipes that I’ve heard.
Right you are PJ! Actually, in my advancing years, I’m amazed I remembered Dr. Blevins had a beehive set at all!

Q&K make not only gorgeous stuff, but are amazing sounding. A friend of mine in LA has a C set from Q&K, and while at his home he let me strap it on. I can easily say that it is the easiest and finest chanter/set combination I’ve ever played. The tone was gushing rich, and tuning was phenomenal. The set almost played itself and needless to say I didn’t want to give it back.

Q&K are indeed amazing sounding.
I heard them do “Down By the Old Millstream” once, after they’d had a few too many. Perfect.
They’d do the parallel octave thing on the E, and David’s lower E would be just so slightly sharp and Benedict’s upper E just so slightly flat, just like Leo used to do with son Leon; and when they did the C natural, DMQ would lift Benedict off his knee and shake him up and down, just like Leo used to do with son Leon.
Good to see the tradition passed down so faithfully.
Is the tenor reg in the middle or is it just parallax error?
