Alain Fromment.

This is Marc Guilloux playing.

That’s a nifty set of pipes…I’ll bet they sound amazing up close. I love how that guy was all over the regulators!

Hello

Dave Williams made the body and the chanter is from Alain Froment .
You can find other photo from Marc here : http://www.napiobairi.fr/

I thought that resonator style looked like William’s work.

Two others beautifull set from Dave . But I think this page was given on the forum :http://www.pipeshow.net/musee-up-williams.htm .

The second one was built the same Years (or +1 or +2 ) as Marc’s one( ca 1986 ) , the first one is more recent . Ronan Le Bars and Patrick Molard have also the same combination of the same years ( body Williams , chanter Froment ) .

These sets are beautiful and sound great , but we have already spoken from the thin metal of the bass regulator that cause problems .

Visit the two websites I mentioned , there are others beautifull set .

Is that “la Cathedrale”?

Ho , ho.. this shot was taken in my home !!!

Hello P.J. I know you speak french , so would you please translate for others…

Vas-y P.J. traduit …si tu veux bien ! MERCI .
Salut.

Yes, this is the set that Alain Froment made and christened "La cathédrale de Marc Guilloux " . As we can see, it has 4 regulators and a 4th drone in the stock. But it’s not the only one to have 4 regulators . ( thinking of Ben Walker and there are others…hi Ben ! )
Personally I don’t like the term the “cathedral”…but anyway …! It must be said that the motor sounds great, that Marc makes great use of it and that when he plays the double bass regulator, everyone takes notice .

Many thanks DJ ! You are a perfect " polyglote " and here is a new job for you !
About this set I would like to give two importants precisions : this set is B pitched and the 4th drone play the fifth in the scale .
Happy sunday to eveybody .

These are two different sets. Marc’s new Froment set “La Cathédrale” was made recently (last couple of years) and was exhibited in NPU’s An Píobaire.

Luvlee schtuff!

Pat.

Marc’s Williams four regulator set was made in 1983. I remember that a photo of Marc playing the set during Willie week was published in the Clare Champion that year. We dropped off at Dave’s place on the way home and gave him the cutting.

Dave told me that Marc had asked that the drones be set so they could be tuned to E to play with tunes in Emin. I don’t know how effective that adaption was.

There’s a slightly earlier 4 regulator set by Dave here…

Ken

That is one lovely behemoth of a set!

Oh what a beautiful set! . Does this set have a valve in the end that closes when pressed to the leg? I can’t see the popping strap.
