Any idea who made the wood set? When was it made? Do you have pictures that you could post or email me?
I’m definitely into caring for wood, but, while most of my wooden whistles are wonderful, not all are.

Talbert, the question regarding the maker of the wooden set was a valid public request. Why won’t you post that information publicly? This is especially important considering the price you are asking for it.
He doesn’t know who the maker is, since he bought the whistle set from someone else. He’s trying to find out.

2 Chieftain Low D’s = $370.00 - $410.00 (depending on where you purchase)
Not exactly a fair trade there Tal. You should probably only be asking for ONE Chieftain whistle in trade. You probably don’t want to scare anyone off with an unfair exchange.

My guess is that the whistle set was made by David Boisvert of Greenwood Pipes. One whistle sells for $150 and the D/C set is $240. They are superb. They play like concert O’Riordans, only not as piercingly loud in the top of the second octave. Fantastic and underknown, underappreciated whistles. They are thicker around than most high whistles.
Good guess. The cocobollo and brass seem to fit the guess nicely. If Tal would put up a picture we might be able to idenfify them.

The d/c whistle set has just been traded. It was a steal believe me! It is really a very pretty set. It’s a good thing that I am a Low Whistle player & all otherwise I would’nt let it go for anything! It was traded for 3-whistles(Chieftains) & it was definitely worth the trade if you are in to wood! It Plays really nicely. If I could post a picture I would but I am just not that computer literate at the moment! 
When I posted that picture of me & Davy Spillane I actually payed someone to do it for me 
. Sorry that I cannot post the picture. However, it will definitely have a proud owner for sure! If I’m not mistaken I do believe that the owner did say that it was a collector’s item. The brass to me looks really unique somehow. The set has a really old but well kept look to it! You all understand an aweful lot more about these high end wooden whistle’s than I would ever know. Maybe your guess is correct.
P.S. Maybe I should consider lowering the price for the Burke a bit! It’s just that the whistle is in such perfect condition!
It might help as you’re not really asking a fair trade. Brand spaknin’ new the Burke whistles are only going for $200 from Mike Burke himself and I can’t think that there is anyone else out there selling them in better condition than the maker in Mike’s case. You’re asking a trade for two whistles which while they may also be perfect in appearance run between $185-$205 each. One for one is a fair trade there but otherwise, someone would be much better off buying directly from the maker or a retail shop.
Not mine. At present, I only make D, no sets. I’m curious too…
Maybe the person who bought it will figure out what it is and let us know.

If it’s old it can’t be a Greenwood can it? They haven’t been around for years unnoticed surely. Or have they?
He said it looks old, not that it IS old. Maybe the brass tarnished. O’Riordans have always had delrin mouthpieces, so it’s not an O’Riordan set.
I’d seriously suggest against this as someone will get nailed double price for something they can buy brand new at half what is being asked here. Unless there were something added to the Burke like 20 CDs of your choice or something, you’re getting a bum deal.
Tal, again, you really should think about cutting your asking price in half. It’s simply not good business to do this to another whistler - regardless of how great a condition the Burke may be in.
okay, i confess, it was me…i’m middle-aged and figured its a lot easier to trade whistles than it is wives, cars or motorcycles. cheaper too! so once they arrive, i’ll post a guess. maybe you can help me figure out the mystery! besides, i’m convinced wood is better!
