FS: M. Burke-D whistle.

I have a Burke Pro Brass-D session whistle (thin bore) that I would like to offer as a trade. This item is not for sale. I thought that I would try my hand’s at the Burke-D whistle but it’s just not my cup of tea. Most know that the Burke is a really good whistle! This Burke is like new. Primarily, I am a Low Whistle player!! I wanted to see what else was out there so I gave this whistle a go. Personally, I prefer the Chieftains. If there are any board members that are interested in a good trade I’ll trade the whistle for any Chieftains that you would like to part with. Provided that the Chieftain is in good condition, ofcourse. The key does not matter! The Burke is in great condition & has a wonderful 2-octave range.

I suppose most of us knew you were keen on the low Chieftains!!

I’ve got an old Low D which is okay and a new (the one with KWL stamped on it) A which to me at least is terrific. So just how good are the new high D’s and C’s? I guess what I’m asking is if the new range is uniformly good across all keys?

The “New-Range” Chieftains are “great” across the board. I have a full set sent to me personally by Phil. I’m really amazed by the fact that there is almost no clogging at all atleast with the ones that have been sent to me! Phil sent them to me as a “gift” for use on my upcoming cd now in progress, “Harvest Moon”. I’m impressed by the sound! I fell in love with the Low-Eflat. It’s a craker!! I noticed right away that the tubing is very different than the previous ones & carry’s a cool sound. :thumbsup: Best, Tal

P.S. The only reason why I would give up the Burke is for a Chieftain whistle. The old ones are fine Low Whistle’s as well. However, in my own opinion they are no where near the “New Range” Chieftains.

I know I am not “supposed” to reply to this thread, and I don’t have a Chieftain to trade you; but I just wanted to say, Talbert, that your use of quotation marks brings an enormous amount of delight and pleasure to my dreary work day. Thanks. :slight_smile:
