Unanswerable questions.

This might have been covered before but some questions keep you awake at night…

like..

Why do they nail down coffin lids?

Any more?

Because people are dieing to get in.

you really shouldn’t joke about that - it’s a grave subject…

Honestly guys, give it a REST…

When I was a little kid I asked my parents how the clocks knew what time it was.

I’m still waiting for an answer.

Why would a loving God allow pain and suffering?

Why are children born with birth defects which destroy their lives?

Why does Cranberry always ruin the party?

Could you know pleasure without knowing pain?

Albert Einstein was missing a major component of his brain and had problems adjusting to some of the most simple tasks.

Food for thought.

Actually, I was thinking of babies being born with the inclination to play recorder. :sniffle:

Sorry, I misunderstood. That one does baffle me. they all should play the fife!

PS I hate it when I get caught in the middle of an edit.

I think it must have taken God a long time to understand pain. He knows not what it’s like. Maybe Jesus told him. Maybe God had a gripping curiosity about suffering and had to know what it was like --the thought might have just crossed his mind early on–so he created us and made the Devil do it. When people first cried, he might have thought they had an odd laugh. How would he know since it’s not his nature?

We’re going to conquer birth defects, with or without God’s help. Science and research. Perhaps stem cells.

Because it enables growth?

Why are children born with birth defects which destroy their lives?

Are their lives, in fact, destroyed?

Why does Cranberry always ruin the party?

I don’t know . . . that’s a question only you can answer.

The first and second questions were asked non-seriously (I tried to pick common questions people would notice), so that I could ask the third question. It wasn’t supposed to be taken seriously as people seem to’ve taken it. Oops.

Here’s a real one I wonder about:

Why do people have plastic house plants?

And why are doughnut holes called holes, when they’re more like balls?

I think I ask too many questions. :stuck_out_tongue:

Because they like the idea of house plants, but they don’t want to take care of them.

And why are donut holes called holes, when they’re more like balls?

Because “the part punched out of the middle” was too long and “donut balls” would result in prank phone calls.

Let’s lighten up a little.

Why make cheddar orange? (This is very close to home – my daughter will only eat orange cheddar, while I consider it an abomination. not in general, but orange cheese potatoes or mac & cheese remind me of velveeta.)

Why do they have Braille on drive-thru ATMs?

In case a blind person gets driven up to use it.

I thought I was being light.

I think I could enjoy chocolate ice cream without ever having stuck my finger in a table saw. Could be wrong, though.

This reminds me of an old quote but I can’t remember who to attribute it to.

‘It’s stupid having a fence around the cemetry. Those inside can’t get out and those outside aren’t all that eager to get in.’

You were. You were displaying a refreshing sense of humor (humour) and a delightful wit.
