Tunes for charity

Slow travel books – virtual walk through England – containing whistle-friendly tunes – entire cover price to charity.

For anybody looking for an entertaining read over Christmas, can I recommend the Four Points Ramble series of books, which are a description of a project to walk to the four extremities of England, with many digressions including local history and wildlife, and most relevant to chiff&fipple readers, whistle-friendly tunes (most traditional, some original), in a variety of keys. So if you’re looking for new things to play on F, E, E flat, D, C, B flat, A, or low G whistles, there’s something there for you.

Books 1, 2, & 3 can be purchased on line from the Inland Waterways Association at https://www.iwashop.com/ecommerce/products.asp?cat=20
Book 1 can also be purchased on line from the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust at http://www.ywt.org.uk/shop.php?category=&&product=7&ramble-through-west-yorkshire
All books can also be purchased by sending a sterling cheque to the address on the Four Points Ramble website: http://www.fourpointsramble.org.uk , which also has more details of the walking & writing (& whistling) project.

A free copy will be sent to the first person who promises to give a really positive review (totally unethical, but all’s fair in love, war, and charitable fundraising).

do I have to read the book before writing the review?

might be more convincing if you do - perhaps I should have said ‘convincingly positive’…

I like this review…

“From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend on reading it.” Groucho Marx

Hi
I could do with exploring some of the delights of West Yorkshire :boggle:
we don’t get over the border very often so this would be a good excuse.
If no one has taken you up on the offer yet I’m up for it
