For anyone interested, I just received my new tuner in the mail and it is fun (well, ok, as fun as a tuner can be)! I ordered the Korg OT-12 and it does everything that Korg says it can do, and well. It will tune to different temperaments and even has a clip on vibration mic that will pick up individual instruments (including whistles) in a crowd; this might be nice for a crowded session.
It also has a ‘sound back’ feature that will repeat the note that you play so that you can practice hitting the correct tuning by ear… pretty neat.
Just thought that I’d share,
Erik
p.s. This is not a paid advertisement. I did not “like this product so much that I bought the company”. Though if someone would like to give it to me, that would be OK.
Cool… How much was it? Any recommendations on where to buy it? Does it pick up the full range of the whistle? I have a couple of tuners that won’t pick up the upper range of the whistle.
Another option is the Korg DT-3. Small, takes a 9 volt or AC adapter. Has a thru line. Lots of little lights flashing. One thing we have in common: Korg rules. I have been using one for almost 15 years.
