Tubing for chanter-bag connection

Hi all,

I am looking for some sort of tubing to extend the length of the connection between the chanter and the bag. I know it has been done before. Any suggestions on what particular type might do the job? Thanks!

Usually, some simple vinyl tubing (3/8" or 5/8" ID), available from any hardware, will do the trick. Check the OD of your connections.

Mine is made of bicycle inner tube, which seems to do the job well.

I use brass tube I got from a uilleann pipe maker. I use on a bag as a practice set to extend the bag neck length.

You need the length of tube, how far inserted in chanter bag stock, what length for extending.

The outside of tubing will need to fit the inside of the chanter stock on bag.

Then the inside of tubing will need to fit chanter top tube.

My brass tube has combing to add waxed hemp on outside to fit in chanter stock on bag.

I then match the chanter top outside diameter with the usual hemp wrapping to the brass tubing inside hole.

Photo of my bag chanter stock extension coming soon.
