I think Skip Healy is in the area: http://www.skiphealy.com/. I only know his website and the sound samples on it, but if I ever happen to be in New England, I know I’ll go and see him - and, of course, the flutes he makes.
That you, Tom?
Not exactly whistle related, but on June 27,28,29 the Old Songs Festival will be held in Altamont NY, outside of Albany. This is a terrific festival, even though there is not a huge amount of specifically whistle related music. Lotsa spontaneous jams. On Fri afternoon, the 27th, there will be an intermediate whistle class held by local whistler, piper, hammer dulcimer, etc, player Ray Wall. I went to that several years ago and found it very useful. Check out:

Depending on your driving, the trip should be about 3 hr from Boston ( remember, you’re NOT on the Autobahn…)
If you do come this way, you are definitely welcome to stop in and visit me and my shop, or arrange to meet at the festival which I plan on attending at least part of.
Hey Tom! I’m only 2 hours away from Boston, and nearly almost on the way to Paul’s place.
ps - get the book yet? Should be in your box today or tomorrow.
You may want to find out what’s going on at the Burren, in Somerville- just outside of Boston. They often have sessions and concerts. Here is a link. http://www.burren.com/burrenframeset.html
All the Best, Tom
June 12 - 15 will be the Sea Music Festival at Mystic Seaport, in Connecticut. Only a couple of hours drive from Boston. Skip Healy will be performing there, by the way.
All you Sponge Bob music fans should consider the trip, too. Here’s a link:

hi tyghress -
i just got home from work and discovered the book in the mail. has the money arrived?
thanks so much!
btw: thanks to all for the tips. perhaps it would be useful to explain where i’ll be. in the week of 22-28 june i’ll be on squam lake (new hampshire); the following week i’ll be at my sisters in wayland, mass.
There is a session Tuesday nights at the Burren in Sommerville (part of Boston). Chris Laughin can tell you more about it, he recommended it to me.
Or even in Somerville, (one M). Sorry Bloomie, couldn’t resist. ![]()
Bloomfield- I’m now totally depressed. You didn’t respond to my poking fun at you, at yet you always respond to everyone else.
Your are ignoring me, I guess I have nothing left to live for- almost.
Hopefully you did not take my jab the wrong way.
I subscribe to this:
All the goings on in Rhode Island, by all accounts, a small state and has been referred to as beachfront property for the Mafia, but that’s another story.
Skip Healy’s shop is in RI, as mentioned above.

Is there an echo on this board?
