Trade: Burke Brass B vs Overton B anyone?

I have a nice BrassPro from Michael Burke in B that I bought to complement my Uilleann chanter in the same pitch. I only found that I like the Overton sound better. Anyone here willing to trade his/her Overton for my tuneable Burke? Pics/clips could be provided. email me if interested. Thanks.

Do you mean Bb or B-natural (B oder H, auf Deutsch)?

I don’t think you’ll have much luck finding a B-natural Overton for trade, there aren’t exactly many out there. And those who own them will probably own them for a reason and not be looking to trade down to a Burke.

But good luck!

P.S.
Herr Müller-Lüdenscheidt!

Thanks for solving the puzzle, Ais-loomfield!

I wondered who had use for a non flat (3D?) B whistle…

Hmm, Bnat whistles are nice for playing along with certain number of (a few, I think…?) songs, besides with normal tunes played on a set of Bnat pipes. Not “nasal” like a Bb, but sorta “heavenly”, I guess. Chiefly for its tone rather than the usefulness, I think.

I dont yet have the B although i have long been planning to. Actually, I was getting a Burke in B as my original aim, but got a Burke “DAN” quite recently to see what Burkes are like. The end of Soprano-D-Whoa for me. Now I’m saving to get a B from Mr Burke…

Christian, would you like the tunes to be quite loud / with a drive? Then Overton must be the “must” but if you like mostly slow types of tunes, airs etc., then I’d say you might want to stick to the Brass Pro MB you have. Or you could ask Colin to make a easy-blower, and ask for “less volume” one if the loudness is an issue.

Cheers,

Bloomfield, I believe there are many out there who would prefer a Burke over an Overton. I am not dissatisfied with my Burke. It has a full, loud, round tone with a bitt of chiff. But I think it is just not as flexible and complex as an Overton would be. I do not plan to order an Overton B from Colin right now, WhOA is under control for now - I rather focus on pipes and flutes
Bloomfield, I see the skies have cleared again around Herrn Ehrhardt. I’m just sitting here (Sat afternoon) watching “Der Haustyrann” from 1958. I only think his poems and live performances were much, much better than his movies.
Oh, and of course I meant Bnat - as a non-English native speaker I should have clarified.
Happy weekend y’all

So it really is a B and not a Bb? Because I have an Overton Bb that I might part with for a Burke.

B natural is a great key, and Mike makes quite a nice Bnat whistle – I have a composite rather than a brass. It’s a big whistle; the bore is bigger than a Water Weasel Bflat. It plays almost like a low whistle.

The second key for a Bnat is E, which is not that uncommon; Joni Mitchell sings in E quite a bit. I got my B from someone who had two to play along with flat pipes.

I was wondering if you’ve played a F# whistle or E whistle. I’m thinking how playable it is on either ones to play along with the songs sung in B, compared to a Bnat.
