to find absolutely correct frequencies for a given whistle

Hi there. A while ago I saw a post here from a fellow, don’t remember who, who posted about this gizmo he had that would produce absolutely correct pitches for a high c and a high D whistle.
Now I’m wondering if I could find the same thing somewhere for my GenBb and Eb whistles, just to make sure they’re in tune, anybody got a link?
cheers, Amar.

The Whistle Shop has a Digital tuner for 19.95..While it wont show the wave length..It will show the note being played and tell you if its sharp or flat. We purchased a Chromagraph that showed the wave length, But it wouldnt tune in the key of “D”

There is an excellent free tuner at:
www1.ocn.ne.jp
All it needs is a microphone connected to your sound card. This tuner was specifically developed with flutes in mind - flutemaker Terry McGee wrote the help file. It’s very sensitive with a lot of features - including the ability to show wave shapes. (Tough to take with you to a gig though  )

A whistle can vary a great deal in pitch with breath pressure alone, so be careful of your playing technique. This feature of the “Duct Flute” allows a player to “bend” the notes with more control than a flute embouchure.

Every computer with a sound card has a means to play specific frequency pitches. Go read your computer operators manual :stuck_out_tongue:
