This act of terrorism has indeed made our world a much smaller place. It is a great comfort to know our friends from all over, are reaching out to us in thoughts and prayers.

My sister is in Manhattan. We haven’t heard anything yet.
My brother-in-law, Pat, was working 4 blocks
away from the WTC. He called his wife
after he saw the first airplane strike
the building. After the second airplane,
Pat called my father-in-law on his cell
phone. He was walking north away from
the conflagration. The phones went dead
for an hour and thankfully he surfaced
in a friend’s apartment. Scary, on top
of the unspeakable tragedy–I hope everyone
of us who had friends and family in the vicinity finds them safe.
My brother, Scott, works at the capitol in DC. He called this morning and he’s fine.
The plane that crashed outside Pittsburgh, which I understand had also been hijacked, was almost certainly headed for the capitol. Relieved as I am that it didn’t get there, I can’t rejoice too much–people still died on that plane. My brother is angry, and I’m just sort of stunned.
Not much more to say, except thank you for your prayers, especially our friends from other countries. Those of you closer to the disaster, my prayers join the others. If there is anything else I/we can do, please post or e-mail.

Betty, I guess you speak for all of us during this tragic time. God bless and comfort all the poor people who were victimized by this terrible brutal act. And God bless all our friends around the world whose lives are based in love and compassion and not hate.

Now I’ve been wondering about Tom Dowling.
I’m thinking that he works in that area in or near the World Trade Center. If anyone hears from him or about him…please let me know.

I’m fine!! See my message in this regard. I want to share photos of what is no longer there with anyone who wants them. I’m culling my albums now. I think I have a few really decent sunsets, which seem somehow fitting. Today was my second brush with an attack on those old leggy beauties.
