Doug recently sent me one of his F flutes to try out since I’m in the market for an instrument in the key of F, and I’m really impressed with it. It’s a three-piece model with the wedge:

In the FYIW department I’d have to say IMO Doug’s taken his flute making up a level with his recent design improvements. The first Tipple I bought was a low D back in June of 2007 when I first started tooting, and that flute predated the lip plate and new embouchure design. I purchased a low Bb and D with the new improvements this summer and my, my, what a difference. Much more responsive and better bark than the earlier model had. Doug’s flutes just keep getting better!
