First, let me start by saying I’ve been a long-time member of C&F and was very active here until family obligations and a job loss took me away for a while. I’ve sold, bought, and traded many whistles here. I’m dealing with my mother’s passing last year, and in the process of starting a new business, so moving forward. Eventually, I got back into the music scene and playing whistle, but not as much as I once did. In that light, I’ve realized I have some whistles that I either haven’t played in a long time or never really played much… so decided to sell a few and currently have the following for sale:
Prices include priority/insured shipping within continental U.S. No personal checks. Money order or cashier’s check only. Not set up to do PayPal. If you’re interested in any of the whistles, we can discuss payment/shipping. I will also be happy to answer any questions and provide more photos if requested.
ABELL MADAGASCAR ROSEWOOD HIGH D. Purchased direct from Chris in 2009, it’s one he had just finished in limited run, and it’s a beauty that sounds wonderful. It looks like African Blackwood but upon close inspection has faint reddish streaks that give it a special character. Great Abell tone, extremely accurate, plays easy with good volume. Excellent condition and well maintained yearly with pure almond oil as Chris recommends. No cracks or other imperfections. Beautiful whistle. The reason for selling such a nice whistle is I now prefer smaller diameter whistles and use my Sindt D exclusively. Includes original soft padded case. Sale price: $395

Slight reddish streaks (might be hard to see, depending on your monitor or the device used to view)

BURKE BRASS SESSION D. Purchased new in 2010. Excellent condition with that unique warm, smooth Burke brass tone, easy player, good volume, strong low end, clear upper register. Sale price: $175

CHIEFTAIN HIGH D (nontunable). Purchased new in 2012. This whistle has never been played much at all since it requires a lot of push in the upper register. I got it for outdoor unplugged gigs with the band since it’s LOUD, but just couldn’t get used to the air requirement…and as mentioned, I prefer smaller diameter whistles these days. This whistle is a cannon with a very nice, clear tone and will be great for a player with a strong ‘blow’. Like new. Sale price: $125
