The Session dot Org comment.

Someone over on www.thesession.org just referred to Chiff & Fipple as “Chaffing Nipples.”

Very apt.

Ah, that would be me, hullo Brett. I do lurk occasionally over here… hey this is like those crossover events that the WB used to do with Buffy & Angel, eh?

Anyway, the spelling was a tossup, I opted for the second, though I think both are appropriate. I did not coin the phrase, btw, & unlike here, you cannot edit postings on thesession dot org.

chafing [n] soreness or irritation of the skin caused by friction

OR

chaffing [n] the use of light, frivolous language by way of fun or
ridicule; raillery; banter.

Geez, I finally got Alan to stop saying that his “fipples explode with delight.” Now this… :sniffle:

Typical debate.

But for jazus sakes lads, didn’t O’Carolan invent the Banjo?

My teacher Aimin Togetajob ( fiddler ) says I am wrong, but near enough for now!

Ok ok — tell that to the Galway Chamber Of Commerce - they would probably say, ‘ah shur itz them Dublin men in fine fettle and at it again’ But mention it in Clare they might say ’ and who would that be’

See I told you so, nobody has the foggiest idea who all they are.

LOLOLOLOL touché I love it!
