I have a copy of the 1st Edition. It’s pretty good for a sampler. If the 2nd Edition is similar, I may have to give it a try…

valuable thing, a review, written by someone that really knows the stuff… :laughing:

My girlfriend bought it some weeks ago, I like it, I think it is for people who wants a general idea of irish folk..

i’ve got the book of the same name, it concentrates largely on artists who have recordings available, so some historical names are ommitted, but it’s still a good read.

I thought I’d bought it, but I don’t seem to have it. I have 3 editions of the Rough Guide to Scottish Music and there’s some good stuff there. You can listen to sound clips of them all on amazon.com. There pretty cheap bought used there, too. (Are we talking about the cd or the book??)
