A good review I think. Although I see the title of the CD as “Johnny Doran” as there are assumed to be no other recordings of Johnny, and I’d consider “The master pipers volume 1” to be the title of serie of CD’s as I assume that there will be other CD’s featuring pipers. I guess there will perhaps be a Master pipers vol 2 featuring Felix Doran, prehaps a Master pipers vol 3 featuring Tommy Reck?
They have started using hte same logo for this series as NPU usues on their website. The one with the four reg Froment set. Pier Kuipers designed it, I remember him taking the photogrphs he used, I played the set first and Tommy Kearney after me, Pier photogrphing both of us. I have some shots of Tommy playin. Now, on the NPU website Pier suggested the piper was ‘probably’ Tommy Kearney. But if you compare the piper’s hands, I don’t think so.
