Since my last post I have moved from Aberdeen, Scotland to Wellington, New Zealand.
Are there any Wellington based Kiwi whistlers out there? Having said that, I am interested to hear from any Kiwi based whistlers.

I never thought of making a whistle from a Kiwi… feathered or ‘furred’… 
I’d be too tempted to eat a whistle made of kiwi fruit to play it.
It’s a long journey from Aberdeen, isn’t it, FFC? I was in New Zealand myself in December. Before I went, I e-mailed Brendyn Montgomery to ask him about sessions in New Zealand, and he was very helpful. You can contact him via the link above. Seems he’s just moved to Nelson, but if anyone knows about whistle-players in New Zealand, I think it would be him. He’ll be getting fed up with e-mails from people from Aberdeen. One of my former whistle students was out about 3 weeks after me. You’ll be the third. Good luck.

There are probably a few people like me who learned from a guy who taught a class at the local adult-education-centre, and continue to torment our cats/partners/neighbours but are smart enough not to abuse the public ear.
And then there are real players.
Are you good? Like really good? If so, head to the session at Kitty O’Sheas in Courtney Place, Monday evenings, I think they start at 9-something-ish. The guy who taught my class plays there (whistle plus the various other instruments he plays), along with others who really know what they’re doing.
Are you ok, rather than good? In that case, the session at Molly Malones, also in Courtney Place, would be more your scene. It’s also a congenial place if you just want to go along to sit and listen.

Oh - and gidday, good to have you here. I worked with a guy from Edinburugh last year, he was pretty cool to have around, so by association you must be too!
