we shall not let this thread fade away, nay I say, NAY!!!
Well, I was informed last nite on chat by a frequent poster that this thread makes him retch and wince.
So I agree with Amar. Keep it alive till 2005! And I would love to see a pix of Far Ouest, as I have no idea what that place looks like!! Puhleeeze Zub???
added later: look at weird numbers above of posting date and time!

Probably won’t be able to keep it alive that long..i think after 40-something pages, the length breaks the chiffboard code, and then the thing has to be locked away. Pretty sure that’s whats happened to other huge threads in the past, anwyay.

Darn- I was just getting ready to ask if anyone knew what thread holds the reocord as being the longest. Seeing the information above, I guess there is no “correct” answer.
this was the longest thread, may it rest in peace.

If I’m not mistaken, It didn’t auto-lock. Dale locked it himself to put it out of its misery. That being the case, this thing could theoretically go on FOREVER! ![]()

Resistance would be futile ![]()
Here’s my hole. It’s a choice. Guess why?
Here goes : Far Ouest (summer). Well to-day, it’s not so crowded…

Far Ouest (winter). Even less crowded ![]()

That must be wonderful in the summer. Are ya crowded with tourists etc or is there more coastline like that? Is there a warm current like at Torquay?
Also, is that yer village in the distance?
I will whistle on that beach someday, I hope!!! Far Ouest is cutie-pie.
But Week, couldn’t you start something like “Cutie-Pies, The Sequel?” This takes so long to open that I’m not looking any more.

I don’t know what I said, but after my last post, Dale thought it necessary to euthenize the whole thread.
Sorry Susan, I didn’t know. Even if you just select the current page, it takes time?? I thot only if there were pictures on that page.
But I have a T-1 at work and DSL at home so I wasnt aware…hmmmmmm…sad…must end…cutie-pie-dom…awwww…sniff…

But this thread is El Weeko’s pride and joy. To sequelize it would defeat the point! We just as wells abandon it for “OT: New photo thread. Put your cool pictures in here!”

Its a stretch.
Is it any more a stretch than Latin liturgy being a cutie pie? You declared it so. ![]()
But that was sooo many pages ago, Waldenski!
hey Zubi, tell me where it is. Looks like a nice place for the next summer holiday.

General location : South of south of Brittany, so some extra sun
. Somewhere in-between Vannes and St-Nazaire, closer to the latter. Nearest town Guérande, really beautiful mediæval walled city, pretty well preserved. Or pickled, given our local traditions…
Economy : tourism (or collectring crude oil spillings, depends on the years), high sea trawling and shellfish fishing, oysters and mussels production, traditional sea-salt.
More specifically for me home :
- Crowded, not really. We’re about 800-odd voters (20% of which actually reside in Nates, 100 km away), so count ca. 2500 people in winter. Grows to a ~18,000 in summer, up to 25,000. Quite manageable in fact, even if all locals feel better on the 1st of September…
A dozen beaches, with 2-3 major ones like “Sorloch” posted up thar î . In-between beaches, you have cliffs and/or granite rocks. Plenty shellfish–crabs, mussles, shrimp, clams, oysters for free–good surf-casting and fishing generally. Many old-timers keep mostly feeding on this self-service.
I forgot the 6 pubs open all year round! One hotel (plus B&B’s), 3 restaurants all year, one being *** a strange hybrid of French and Korean cuisine, with **** cellar
Also Yannick Guegamp’s school of painting (trompe-l’œil) brings in some spring session students, some from the US of A.
One monthly Irish session in a pub (Le Skipper in pure local Franglais), also a yearly Irish moozik festival. Well, 2002 was 1st edition… - Water is cool, ca. 68°F (the only one °F a photographer knows! Though, a delicate-feelings endeavored Froggie like I will also know of the 100°F of a chicken’s arse…). Lots of sailing and sailboarding–this mostly “free-style”, they wet their suits only ina gale.
- What else did I forget to undescribe ? Right! The saltmarshes! They go back to Roman times, understand our fancy salt (labelled as Guérande’s) is exported as far west as America.
- No, the pix shows no village, just a few houses. There’s no real center in the commune, but a half-dozen hamlets. The one with the Mairy, the school and the biggest Church pretends it’s superior. Well, now you know better! Though, they do have the session, too

NB: Irish festival will be the weekend around 8th of June 2003. I’ll let you know if one cares. Takes research : I lost my memory while in the Seniors’ thread.
See, I also forgot this link :

Hi Claudine! You got it all up there, but feel free to ask for specifics. Do come–I’ll show you my appogiaturi ![]()
Zoob, yer killin’ me.
Does this sound like a perfect place to have a vacation or what? Especially the seafood…[rude drooling noises]…

Just drive freeway straight through Paris, Nantes, St-Nazaire, Gérande and 10 minutes backroads. Paris to Quimiac-Mesquer is 500 km.
Now, Claudine, you’ll have to translate your improvisation (or arrangement ?) to the rest of the world (the Franco-aphonic). Just in case your last word would be interpreted as a signature ![]()
PS: t’as étudié le contrepoint avec MB, ou juste ses œuvres ?
