Always wanted to get to the Interceltique in Lorient this summer.

How was it?
Apart from seeing a few open screen cinema showings, I made to the Interceltique and the Denez Prigent concert. The Interceltique is a bit of a scramble and the journey was more interesting for me.
As for the Denez Prigent concert - this was sublime. Located in the heart of the ancient town with its beautiful cobbled stones, he sang in a glorious sunset evening. His eery ancient language really calmed everyone into complete silence (and those who were talking were quickly hushed off in straitjackets by the crowds). He had a great entourage with him - especially the fabulous bald guy who was just so suave and cool with his bombardes and cornamuses and penny whistles. He didn’t do extreme rock guitar guitar stage solos - nothing so narcissistic - just made his seamless reed instruments, embellishing the music with intense emotionally floored musicality. His silver coloured saxophone sounding instrument was so lovely and the pieces which Veillon played flute on Prigent’s CDs didn’t even register their absence with me in the live concert.
I was so impressed with the bombarde playing that I’ve decided he’s my role model. Alas I’m not that good even on the clarinet so I’ve decided, that when I grow up, I want to be bald
