I lament that I will be here in Rhode Island and so will
miss the Tional. But I encourage people to go. I’ve
benefitted immensely from flute and whistle workshops,
and the whole thing is great fun; lots of good instrument
makers show up to sell their wares, too.

Would anyone know how to contact Chris Weddle, of the staff, before the Tionol?

John Skelton, who will teach flute, is a terrific teacher,
in case anybody here doesn’t already know of him.
And you get to hear him play his Olwell cocus Pratten,
out of which he gets a sound like nothing else
I’ve ever heard–quite extraordinary.

I had the great fortune of meeting Peadar in Boston several years ago. It was a fluters wet-dream class actually. Marcus Hernon taught the class. Peadar sat in for a couple of days and Jack Coen sat in for a day. One of the best musical weeks of my life.

Anyway, what I meant to say was, if you get a chance to spend any time with him, you should make a point of doing so. He is amazing.

Maybe try emailing off the website? I got a flyer in the mail from them with some contact info, but it’s at home. Anyway, they’re a fairly close-knit group, I think, so if you get a message to them, it’ll most likely get to Chris.
